石榴石滤料又名“玉砂”或“天然金刚砂”，具有较强的硬度和很好的耐酸耐碱性，是一种岛状结构的铝（钙）硅酸盐，它色多优美，目前，经高纯磁选出的有灰、红、绿、白等多种染色体，是国外当前新开发的立体喷墙涂料，还是玻壳厂唯一能做彩壳喷砂耐磨料，由于它内部化学分子多，化学稳定性好等特点。是用石英砂、石油焦(或煤焦)、木屑为原料通过电阻炉高温冶炼而成。碳化硅在大自然也存在罕见的矿物，莫桑石。

石榴石滤料常用规格：0.5-1.0mm 0.6-1.2mm 1-2mm 2-4mm 3-6mm 4-8mm 5-10mm 石榴石滤料用途：石榴石既可用做水的过滤介质,又可用做高速公路、飞机跑道的防滑路面、外墙涂料、橡胶填料（如作汽车轮胎输送带充填料，可使之耐磨性能增加）等，并广泛用于光学、电子、机械、仪器等行业。
